For the record, I personally believe Perry’s vote as well as his explanation of the vote are both terrible. In fact, coupled with his stance on the illegal immigrant in-state tuition question I thought Perry was headed towards total loss at the rate he was going.
Bachmann had Perry down on the mat through her response on the issue. Apparently she wanted to keep kicking, which would have been good if… she wasn’t kicking with false accusations. In an interview after the debate, Bachmann had this to say.
“There’s a woman who came up crying to me tonight after the debate. She said her daughter was given that vaccine. She told me her daughter suffered mental retardation as a result of that vaccine.”
The problem with Bachmann’s use of that story is that she had/has no factual evidence to back it up. Some professors are now even offering up $10,000 for proof of the story being true!
Based on this logic, someone could have come up to Bachmann, told her a ten armed monster came out of the swamp to attack her, and Bachmann could have used that against a candidate.
The bottom line is that it was probably a mistake to use the story so quickly and with no proof it could have been true. Bachmann could have either refrained from using it until she had better proof or she could have backtracked soon after by making it clear she was concerned but not accusing.
Instead Bachmann is digging in. So, now, instead of the story being about mandates (which it should have been all along), the story is about the story. I don’t think too many Bachmann fans are going to hold it against her if she backs out and puts this story to sleep. Right now it all appears to be doing more damage than good.

The part that saddened me about MB during the debate was her body language when Perry was answering her. She acted like a spoiled child. This is an observation and she needs to stop running her campaign like it’s highschool. I have lost respect for her candidacy for president. She needs to let the microphone be her loudspeaker in stead of her voice.
It would be great if we had a strong woman as our president that doesn’t let her emotions get the best of her.
The body language is an interesting angle to discuss of we were all in highschool, for I’m sure the taller male candidates like Romney and Perry are only coincidentally trying to stand even taller next to the others. The candidates records should be what we judge them on.
The vaccine challenge by the professors cannot be proven without trial, therefore it is a petty attempt to paint a negative light on her without the possibility of paying the reward — the fact that it is mentioned in the article at all displays the slanted spin of the writer.
